The Terrifying Corridor

After Susie left the car, the tall and sturdy black man quickly followed suit.

The black taxi driver watched as the taxi drove away and muttered under his breath, "That annoying little brat! You'll all go to hell!"

He spat out a mouthful of phlegm and continued to look for passengers.

Inside the car, Susie took out her small bag and pulled out a large wallet from it.

The wallet was filled with red envelopes, one after another.

Zion had been trying to connect to a game for a while, but when he failed, he gave up and put away his phone.

He saw Susie counting red envelopes and said in disbelief, "What era is this? Who still uses cash?"

Susie was surprised and asked, "Brother, don't you use cash?"

Zion impatiently replied, "I mean, nowadays everyone uses mobile payment, no one uses cash."

Susie shook her head and said, "I don't like mobile payment. I prefer using cash, that way I can clearly see how much money I have left."

When her wallet got thinner, she would feel heartbroken, and then she wouldn't spend money carelessly.

She would save a lot of money and become richer and richer!

Zion sneered and took a red envelope from her, looking down at it. "Then you don't need to keep the red envelopes intact, do you?"

Even if it was cash payment, no one would put the red envelope directly into the wallet.

Susie stared at the red envelope in Zion's hand and said, "Brother, you don't understand. The money inside the red envelope can generate more money, so I will have more and more money!"

Zion snorted, "Feudal superstition!"

Susie reached out her tender little hand and took the red envelope back, saying, "You don't understand!"

Zion didn't feel like arguing with her and didn't want to talk.

Susie leaned between the driver's seat and the passenger seat, staring at the meter. The meter showed 89, then jumped to 96.

"We're here," the driver said.

Susie's face suddenly twisted in pain. She couldn't believe it had gone from 89 to 96 in just a few steps.

Seven more dollars!

She could have walked those two steps!

Susie looked at the red envelope in her hand, feeling distressed, and said, "Uncle, can you reverse a bit?"

The driver said, "Huh?" Did he go too far? No, he didn't! He parks better in the military base than this.

He asked, "Did I go too far? I can't reverse because I'll be photograph."

This was not his car, and if his car was fined, it wouldn't matter, but he didn't want the real driver to be fined.

Susie shook her head and said, "No, I don't have enough money. 89 was just right!"

The driver said, "Little cutie, reversing also requires a fee."

Susie was confused and asked, "Huh?" Why did reversing require extra money? The meter was cheating!

The driver looked at her cute and naive appearance and said, "Okay, I'll charge you 85."

Susie's eyes lit up and she said, "Thank you, uncle!"

After speaking, she drew a red Jovie 100-dollars bill from the red envelope.

The driver's mouth twitched, "Don't you have money?"

Susie was a little embarrassed and whispered, "Dad says, every penny counts."

The driver looked skeptical. Did someone like Mr. Morton really say that?

On the other end, Kellen watching the scene also twitched his mouth. He didn't, he never did!

The driver helped Susie take her suitcase out and also carried her birdcage. He saw Zion following behind, eagerly wanting to connect his phone to play games.

He turned around and put the suitcase handle into Zion's hand and hung the bags and birdcage on the suitcase handle.

Zion looked up and found that he had suddenly acquired a bunch of stuff in his hands.

He suddenly realized that it was Susie who had been carrying the luggage all along.

Susie reached out and said, "Brother, let me do it. I'm strong enough!"

Susie didn't feel it was a big deal.

Zion pushed her hand away, his face sullen. "Just forget it. Are you going to go cry to Grandpa and Grandma if you get tired later?"

He spoke harshly, pulled the suitcase, and quickly walked towards the hotel entrance.

Susie happily followed behind, chattering, "This is the Peach Blossom Inn! We'll be staying here for the next two days."

Zion replied, "Oh."

The Peach Blossom Inn...why does it sound familiar?

Susie continued, "Before we came, I had Dad book room 34008 at the xxx Hotel, which has two bedrooms and one living room! It's next door to the jumping sister's room."

Zion suddenly stopped in his tracks. "What?! Why are we staying here?"

Susie looked bewildered. "Otherwise, why did we come here?"

They were here to catch a female ghost, of course!

Zion had just glanced at the dead girl's photo and became obsessed with her.

Naturally, they had to catch that girl.

Susie saw Zion's face turning pale and asked, "Are you scare, Brother?"

Zion replied, "Nonsense..."

Susie said, "Then let's go!"

Zion looked up and saw two towering buildings facing each other, with the three characters "Peach Blossom Inn" on the top floor.

Susie tiptoed and registered at the front desk, pulling Zion into the elevator. "Let's go!"

The elevator went straight up to the 34th floor.

This building was really high, and the rooms were quite compact. A long corridor was almost endless.

Zion only took a glance, but he felt a layer of chill crawl over his body.

Susie looked around and analyzed, "The corridor is too narrow and too long, which makes it easy to have a lot of ghosts here."

Zion said nothing.

As this was not a star-rated hotel, and the floor was not entirely a hotel but a mixed public place for short- and long-term rentals, there was no carpet on the corridor.

As they dragged their luggage, the sound echoed through the whole corridor.

Occasionally, there were tenants sitting at the door enjoying the cool breeze, and they glanced at the two children in a daze.

Zion felt the road was so long, and they finally arrived at room 34008.

Susie swiped the room card and opened the door with a beep.

As soon as the door opened, a gust of cold wind hit their faces, and the door next to them slammed shut, making Zion's scalp tingle.

Alex even shouted, "Wow, it's so cool!" Zion's heart was about to jump out of his throat.

"Quickly go in!" He immediately wanted to enter the room, but the wind was too strong, and the door slammed shut with a bang.

Susie went in, but he didn't.

The wind whirled in the corridor, making a moaning sound, and the door of the adjacent room was tightly closed, but Zion always felt that it would open the next second.

This was even more terrifying than not entering the room at all!

"Susie! Open the door!" Zion hurriedly knocked on the door.

A tenant who was cooling off poked his head out from far away, and with the moaning wind, Zion's heart became even more frightened.

Just then, there was a click, and Zion was relieved, thinking it was their door that opened.

But when he grabbed the door handle and pushed, he realized that the door did not open.

In other words, the sound of the opening door was not from their room, but from the room next door...
