Locked by Someone

The man grabbed Susie's arm. His eyes glinted strangely in the dim backlight, as he spoke in a hoarse and chilly voice,

"Little girl, what are you looking at... Do you want to come in?"

He held an empty sack and raised it towards Susie's head...

Before he could react, he suddenly flew out!

With a loud crash, the man slammed into the wall. The display cases around him shook, and a doll fell over.

Hamza had just arrived and heard the commotion. He instinctively rushed over and stood in front of Susie.

Susie turned around innocently and blinked her eyes.

She looked at Hamza and asked, "Eek, when does Hamza come?"

Then she looked at the man who flew out, "Eek, why does this uncle fly out by himself?"

Hamza's face was icy, and he asked coldly, "Who are you?"

The man in gray overalls climbed up, holding his knee and coughing violently. A hint of fear flashed in his eyes when he looked up.

At the moment, he couldn't tell if he was knocked out by Hamza or if he had seen a ghost.

"Who are you guys?" He asked in return.

Seeing Hamza looking at him coldly, he had to say, "I'm a staff member here..."

His voice was hoarse and sounded like a saw, making people feel uncomfortable.

The man looked at Susie and said, "I see her at the door and ask if she wants to come in."

Hamza frowned and became even warier after hearing this answer.

Why would a normal staff member ask a child if they wanted to enter the workshop?

They should ask her to leave as soon as possible.

Hamza couldn't help but feel a sense of strangeness.

But Susie nodded and said, "Okay, I want to go in and see."

Hamza was about to say no, but Susie immediately leaned against him and shook his hand. She acted cute and said, "Hamza, Susie wants to go in and see, you accompany me to go in!"

She then raised her little hand and said, "Hamza, don't worry, Susie will protect you!"

Hamza was speechless.

Who was protecting whom just now?

But he finally said, "This won't happen again..."

Susie held his hand happily and led him, "Oh, Oh!"

Hamza was "forced" to be led by Susie. The worker swiped his card and opened the glass door, and then they stepped into the production room.

As soon as they entered, Hamza felt an indescribable discomfort. The overall decoration inside was black, and several semi-finished dolls were nailed to one side, giving a sense of oppression and strangeness.

The workers making mud had an expressionless face. In another nearby room, there was a workbench for making dolls. A BJD doll maker was hanging his head, carving the face of a doll with concentration.

On her workbench were many doll pieces, some with single joints, some with one hand, and even some skull caps, which were very realistic.

If it weren't for the fact that all these parts were more than two times smaller, it could even give people the illusion of being in a dismemberment scene.

He counted carefully and realized that there were only three people in the entire workshop, not including him and Susie.

But it gave him a very dangerous feeling.

Hamza whispered, "Susie, let's go back first."

"Susie?"

He turned his head abruptly and found that Susie had disappeared at some point.

Hamza immediately turned around and saw Susie squatting not far away in front of a worker who was mixing 'mud'.

She curiously asked, "Uncle, is this mud?"

The worker did not speak.

Instead, it was the man at the beginning who had smiled inexplicably and said, "No, this is...resin...powder."

He spoke intermittently and strangely, pulling a sack over as he spoke.

He opened the sack and scooped out a large spoonful of white powder. He weighed it on the nearby scale, and then carefully opened a wooden box on the side. He took a small spoonful of powder and put it into the mixed 'mud' in proportion.

He measured everything else casually, only treated the wooden box with great caution.

Susie stared at the sack and wooden box.

Susie suddenly asked, "Uncle, are these not twigs powder inside here? Are they... human’s bone ashes?"

The man suddenly stopped. The staff mixing the "mud" still did not look up, and the doll maker in the distance twitched her hand, causing the sharp craft knife to slice her finger, and the finger make a drop of fresh red blood quickly.

She extended her finger to the doll's mouth, and the blood was quickly absorbed by the doll, leaving its lips a glistening red.

The man chuckled. He stared straight at Susie and said, "Little girl, why are you talking nonsense? Although people often look at our profession differently, we don't do such horrifying things."

Susie tilted her head, a simple smile appeared on her small face and she said, "Oh, I see. I'm sorry."

As if her words were just an innocent child's mistake.

Hamza directly picked up Susie and said, "Let's go."

The man put down what he was doing and said, "We rarely have customers come into our workshop. Are you here to order a doll? Let me show you the quality of our materials."

Hamza declined and said, "No need."

Susie hugged Hamza's neck and whispered, "Hamza, let's take a look."

Hamza furrowed his brows.

For safety, he quietly pressed the button on the watch on his wrist.

There was an alarm hidden under the watch. If he didn't press it again, it would automatically send his location to the police after five minutes.

The man said, "Since you're here, let's go."

He was forced to lead them to the doll maker's side and said, "This is our skilled craftsman, the BJD doll maker who studied abroad, named Tincy."

Susie waved her hand and greeted, "Hello, Tincy! Are you the one who makes Yara for Niki?"

Hamza said, "What was she talking about now."

Tincy was slightly surprised, but she put down the knife in her hand. She smiled gently and asked, "Are you Niki’s friends? Why do you come here alone? Where is the adult?"

Susie hugged Hamza and replied, "He's here with me!"

Hamza glanced at Susie and said, "We're here to order a doll and we just come to look around?"

Tincy nodded and said, "Sure, take a look around. I accidentally cut my hand just now, I need to go take care of it."

Susie nodded and waved at her as she left.

After Tincy left, Susie broke free from Hamza and picked up a doll joint from the table.

On the green cutting board were two eyeballs in production, a doll face without eyeballs, and a scalp placed aside.

Hamza frowned throughout and looked at the workbench. Apart from the doll in production, there were also two or three half-body doll statues on the workbench.

One had closed eyes and tilted its head slightly, with long black hair and a neat bang.

Another had wide-open eyes with no pupils and looked eerie and hollow.

Hamza looked up and realized something was wrong.

The three people in the workshop were nowhere to be seen, and only he and Susie were left in the workshop.

The glass door was also tightly closed and locked.

Hamza remained silent.
